Now, I know I haven’t made a post in a while but bare with me. I would like to congratulate Seth Curry on his new deal with the Dallas Mavericks. With that in mind, I’ve decided to do a post on not just Seth, but his sister Sydel as well.
Steph is the oldest of three children to Dell and Sonya Curry. His brother and sister, Seth and Sydel Curry, are the middle and youngest child respectively. Steph has a close relationship with both of them as they all grew up together mainly in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Steph and his brother honed their basketball skills by playing against each other throughout their younger years and later at Charlotte Christian School, while Sydel excelled at Volleyball. Initially, Sydel was also into basketball but volleyball became her main sport over time. One of her recollections of basketball with the boys is being their “Rebound Girl” which means she was tasked with collecting their rebounds and tossing them back the ball. Don’t get the slightest idea that they were bossing her around however, because from a video I saw of the three somewhere on Youtube, she was definitely the bossy one. It was pretty funny seeing the little one as the boss. If I ever find it back I’ll add it to this post.
As mentioned previously, they all attended the same high school, but at different times. Steph is only 2 years older than Seth so they spent some concurrent time at Charlotte Christian School but Sydel is 4 years younger than Seth so she never spent any concurrent time with the boys. By the time she got to high school, both of her brothers had already left to pursue their basketball dreams at a higher level. Steph played 3 years at Davidson and was drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft while Seth played his freshman year at Liberty University then transferred to Duke where he played his junior and senior years (he has to sit out one year due to NCAA transfer rules). He, unfortunately went undrafted, but has worked his way into the NBA and got himself a 2 year guaranteed contract with the Mavericks which again, I’d like to congratulate him on.
I don’t have a fancy ending to this post but you’re welcomed to leave any comments below. Also, if you know the video I was referring to on Youtube, please comment the link!
I know I haven’t been sticking to my original 1 post per month declaration but fuck it. I’m posting when I feel like it lol.
Today’s post is about Riley Curry. Riley is probably the most adorable baby in sports history, just like Sydel Curry is probably the most attractive sibling in sports history. The Curry family is just full of superlatives, aren’t they?
Anyway, for this month’s post, I’ve decided to share 10 of the most hilarious Riley Curry memes I’ve encountered online since she made her way into our hearts during the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
Well, as I said in my introduction, Stephen Curry is my favorite player but I didn’t touch on why he’s my favorite. Curry is my favorite player in the NBA because he is a winner and he incorporates playground tricks and moves into his game while remaining relatively efficient. He’s just an exciting player to watch.
He reminds me a little bit of White Chocolate, Jason Williams, but not near as fancy and a better shooter. But as I was saying, I admire his ability to incorporate playground moves while maintaining relative efficiency. You get the best of both worlds when watching him because those things make him the most entertaining player – more entertaining than Lebron James, Kevin Durant (both of who I find boring actually), James Harden and every other player you can come up with. The only players who come close to Curry in terms of entertainment value are Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving.
My main love for Curry, however, is his ability to shoot the ball. I’m a shooter myself so I look up to him in that aspect. His quick release and his willingness to take deep shots if he’s open enough also make him my absolute favorite but another quality I admire greatly in him is his humility. Even though he’s universally recognized as a top 5 player in the NBA and the best on his team, Curry maintains a high level of humility that is sometimes rare in people at the top of their craft. Even though he runs off before shots go in and other small on court celebration acts that some people perceive as cocky, I see it as a guy who worked hard to become the best (at shooting) who knows what will get the crowd and his teammates pumped. When teammates and the crowds are pumped, momentum goes through the roof and momentum is really a shooter’s secret sauce.
This was a summary of why Curry is my favorite player. Who is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
Hi, my name is Geoffrey Green but you can call me Double G. Okay, I’m kidding, that’s corny – definitely don’t call me that.
Anyway, welcome to my blog! My blog is about everything Stephen Curry and a little about his team, the Golden State Warriors. Therefore, I will touch on his family (no giggity, Perv), his shoes, his friends.. just everything and anything I feel like so if you love Steph Curry too, you’re really going to enjoy my blog.
Side note – I won’t be posting every days or even every few days. I will make maybe one post per month.
